The project is situated on a flat area in the outskirts of Ovindoli, a village in the district of L’Aquila. According to the customer’s program, the structure had to be designed to accommodate the nursery and the elementary school, for a total of 43 children.
The school was built after the earthquake that hit the Abruzzo in 2009. The structure had to be safe, realized in a short time and with a low budget. The choose of a steel structure has allowed to guarantee these requirements and all the other advantage of a prefabricated structure assembled in the worksite. The steel frame is anchored on concrete foundations; the external walls are composed of prefabricated panels, made with metal sheets and a large layer of insulation to ensure high thermal performances.
The work was finished in just 30 working days.
